The new Smallville Magazine (with Clark and Lex on the cover or Black Canary is on the special edition cover ) has an interview with the actress who plays Black Canary. She gave some spoilers, and here they are:

-The opening scene has Black Canary fighting with Green Arrow, she leaps over him during the fight. Her "Canary Cry" causes his arrow to break, and Clark's ears to bleed.

-Dinah will wear a brunette wig, and the first time we see Dinah she's in an elevator with Lois. Her and Lois don't get along because Dinah's conservative and Lois's liberal.

-Lex tells Black Canary that Green Arrow is a terrorist who is breaking into LuthorCorp. Black Canary believes Lex, but is convinced by Clark that Green Arrow is a good guy. She feels duped by Lex, because she was lied to, and she just wanted to do the right thing. That's why she went after Green Arrow, she thought he was a terrorist.

-There will be sparks between Black Canary and Green Arrow. Toward the end of the episode, Green Arrow can't wait to introduce Black Canary to the Justice League.

-Black Canary gets into a fight with Clark, but when she lunges at him she just bounces off him. She doesn't understand why that is, the only thing that works against Clark is her canary cry,which causes his ears to bleed..

She's been kicking butt and taking names since 1947, but kinkily beloved DC Comics superheroine Black Canary gets an extreme makeover on Smallville. Played by Canadian actress Alaina Huffman, she sports exceptional hand-to-hand combat skills, an ear-shattering 'canary cry' (described in the script as a subsonic pulse), and, of course, the character's trademark fishnet stockings. But in a departure from previous incarnations, she starts out on the wrong side of the law, running errands for Lex Luthor, who has fooled her into thinking Justice League leader Green Arrow (returning guest star Justin Hartley) is a terrorist. Romantically linked in the comics, Black Canary and Green Arrow will "meet cute and slightly violent," says executive producer Al Gough. Another new twist: her alter ego, Dinah Lance, is a conservative radio talk show host, dubbed "the Right Wing Hawk of the Airways," by archnemesis Lois Lane. Speaking of that budding Daily Planet reporter, she has a tempestuous reunion with Green Arrow's alter ego, Oliver Queen, who dumped her a year ago.

Aaron Douglas of Battlestar Galactica fame has booked a guest role on Smallville, which we are assuming is the role of the previously-mentioned "Pierce." Douglas has actually appeared on Smallville before, in the first season episode "Obscura." Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk have said in recent interviews that they'd gotten to work together again, and that there's an episode where they work with Laura Vandervoort and the three of them (Chloe, Lana, and Kara) have a sort of "girl power team up." This is the episode they were talking about.

Roles currently being cast for "Veritas" include Robert Queen, Young Jason Teague, Young Oliver Queen, and Young Patricia Swann. Yes, it is a flashback, and the villain from Smallville's past that might be back is Genevieve Teague (Jane Syemour). She's is the casting sides at the very least. The scene in question is a flashback to when Lionel, Swann, the Queens, and the Teagues were all working together in the late 1980s. Lois and Jimmy work together on a story. In addition to Brainiac, another villain from Smallville's past might be back in this one. Chloe and Lionel have a confrontation about his true motivations.

"Traveler" is about Patricia Swann, daughter of Dr. Swann and a childhood friend of Lex's. Swann and Lionel were part of a group who were waiting for the arrival of an extra-terrestrial "traveler". Finally, IGN.com has confirmed who the "hero" will be - Pete Ross, returning to Smallville for the first time since Season 3's "Forsaken." Pete won't really like the changes that have gone on since he left town. He's surprised to learn that Chloe, Lana, and Lionel all know Clark's secret - and he's especially surprised to find Lionel Luthor hanging out at the Kents' home. Much like a Season 1 "freak of the week" story, Pete obtains temporary "Elastic Lad"-like stretching powers thanks to something involving meteor rocks. He's using these powers when he saves the lives of Kara and Jimmy. Lex uses Pete's past feelings for Chloe to his advantage. Pete may have some unresolved bad feelings about keeping Clark's secret and the direction it has taken in his life. Part of this episode takes place at a concert. A "muscle-clad henchman," a "roadie," and a "drummer" are currently being cast.

- By now you've seen the conclusion of "Gemini," and it appears that Bizarro has taken Clark's place! How and why? We're going to have to wait a few months to see!
- That "so happy I could fly" line? Bizarro. (Sorry!)
- Bizarro will want Brainiac's help to be able to remain "Clark" forever.
- Expect some father/"son" interaction between Lionel and "Julian."

Erica Durance Interview...

I guess I'll start off by going back a few years. Can you just tell us how you ended up in the role of Lois Lane on Smallville?

It was basically a little bit of a lottery, as everything is in this business, but I had been up here working in Vancouver for a long time -- this is where I live -- doing guest star roles, and just trying to make my way into the business. There was a rumor that this character was going to be coming on to Smallville, so my manager was telling me you need to get ready, we're gonna suss it out and we're going to find an audition. My husband is also my acting coach, so we got all trained up for it. I really didn't think much about it, because at this point I was not very enamored with the industry and the way things went, and I said okay, well I'll go in. I was a little bit begrudging about it because by that time I was ready for a break. True to form, that ended up being the one that I got. It just has been a real whirlwind since then. It started out as a four episode arc, and then they're like there's going to be a couple more, and a couple more, and so far it's been 13 every season, and now this is my fourth year in.

How much pressure was there for you, stepping into such an iconic character?

Well, there was huge pressure. There's pressure for anyone doing any role, but I think you hit it when you said it right there, it's a very beloved character. Everyone has their specific idea of who Lois Lane is for them, and you have your overall blueprint, but then you have to try to make it your own. That's the only way to try to stay truthful to what you're doing. In Smallville we had a little bit of extra leeway because we were just trying to play Lois younger, so I was able to make mistakes as Lois would make mistakes, just kind of finding her way in Smallville and finding out who she is. In the past few years we've kind of been introduced to Lois, her quirkiness, and the repartee she has with Clark, which is really fun. Then slowly, as the seasons have gone by, she's starting to find out that she really likes this journalism thing. She's getting to go out and do more and more, which of course I'm enjoying.

You joined a cast that had been together for a few seasons. Was it hard integrating yourself into that cast, especially at the beginning of your run when you were doing episodes here and there?

It was fun. Most people expect that there's going to be all sorts of chaos and such on the set, but this set is really, really cool. Everybody is very down to earth, so I was just able to find my way. I don't ever push it to be something that it's not. You just kind of go in, get to know people, then as things progress it gets better and better. Right from the start all of them were very open, very nice, and welcoming, so it was an easy fit for me.

No matter what you do for the rest of your career, for a lot of people you'll always be Lois Lane. What's your experience been like so far with the intense comic book crowd?

I have had many different types of experiences, ranging from people who absolutely loved what I'm doing, and it's been more so that way as people have really warmed to the idea. The folks that are really specific about where they want to see Lois, exactly how she should be, and she shouldn't even be in Smallville at this point in time, and very upset about the whole timeline. You just have to take it all with a grain of salt and be very appreciative that people are so interested in the first place, and that's why your show gets to stay on. People are engaged and they care what happens, so all you can do as an actor is go out there, do your best with what you're given, try to be really honest with it, then throw it out there. You get all types of reactions, and I've been to conventions in Europe and conventions all over the United States, so I've gotten quite a little pattern from many different people. For the most part people are really loving it, and I think that's why Smallville has stayed around, because people really love that Superman story and they're really engaged in it.

Is there anything about working on Smallville that you can tell us that a diehard fan might be surprised to hear?

I don't know if there's surprises, but people are always wanting a little bit of dirt, like do the girls not get along, or is there infighting on set. They'd be quite surprised to know that we actually do get along quite well, and go out for dinner and have those great times. If anybody has ever had a chance to be at a convention where they meet Michael Rosenbaum, they get to realize there's quite a difference between the character that he plays on set and his off camera, which is very very wild and constantly on the move. He likes to play lots of practical jokes and he's a comedian to the nth degree. You see this Lex character who is really uber dramatic, and he's an actor, he does a good job of it of course. But as soon as that camera goes off he's off on some kind of riff and he's telling some joke, so there's a lot of laughs on the set. I think that's what keeps it fresh, and keeps it so it's an enjoyable show to watch too. There isn't that angst that sometimes you get on TV shows.

Do you have a favorite episode that you've filmed for Smallville?

Each year kind of has a little highlight for me. What I love about Lois is that she's always doing something different, so in one I'll really be investigating like crazy, and in the other one I'll be fighting someone. I really like "Arrow" in the sense that I was always having to fight, and they were drowning me, even though I'm scared of that kind of thing. I'm kind of one of those people that likes to try to face up to some of those things that freak me out, and water freaks me out. I also liked...gosh, you do so many that you forget the exact names. The funny thing is that you'll play this on your website and the diehard fans will be like "it was that episode!" It was "Combat" which I quite enjoyed, and that was where I was fighting that girl in the cage, and I had to fight Clark. This year I've had a couple of good ones. I just finished one where I was being emotionally held hostage by one of the bad guys of the week, so I really had to be the reporter. As long as I'm keeping in there and it's busy and intense, I usually like it.

FHM has their top 100 sexiest women in the world every year. In 2005 you were number 63, in 2006 you were number 38, and this year you're number 20. Can you tell us your key to incrementally getting sexier every year?

I don't know what the key is. Maybe it's the idea that I'm doing more and involved in more, so people know me more, and that starts to be part of it. With age comes more beauty because you become more relaxed in yourself. I was laughing with my husband the other day, because one of our friends had come up and said "Now, there's all this talk about you and all your facial surgeries to become sexier and get higher on these lists." I laughed so hard, my husband and I had the greatest laugh about it. I often don't read those things on the internet, because there's too much negativity usually involved in that. But I would have to say these folks don't know me too well to think that I've done rhinoplasty and all those things. Besides the fact that I don't like the idea of being in surgery and going under, I have these freakish ideas that you'd be awake during surgery and it totally freaks me out. But also, ya know, a lot happens in a decade, and these people are on there going she's gotten her entire jaw done, and her nose done, and her eyes done, and liposuction, and I thought "Man, all my hours in the gym." In the gym, on the treadmill, that's where that stuff comes from. This is speaking from a woman's point of view, when you get older, and I'm talking about being 20 to 29, your face completely changes. So, I would like to say to those people that it is natural, and it is hard work, sweat, and having to eat a lot of broccoli.

What kind of projects would you like to do in the future? Are there any actresses whose careers you would like to emulate?

So many, for a lot of different reasons. I think the gals that I really look up to, and there's so many so I don't just want to say one or two, though I will anyways. I really like Ashley Judd, I love Sandra Bullock, I love Angelina Jolie, and I love Cate Blanchett. Anything that she does I just sit back and feel completely inadequate. The thing I love about these women is that they've all had different journeys and different pasts, they don't apologize for it, and they all pick something that they feel will challenge them at the time. Of course I don't have a window to their soul, but they do seem fearless, and they always want to pick something that is really interesting to them and not go along necessarily with what everybody else thinks that they should do. They just do it, and they don't make apologies for it, so I'd love at some point to be able to have some of those opportunities. That takes a lot of time, and it takes a lot of hard work, and these are ladies that have been working hard for a lot of years to be able to choose those scripts. I hope that someday I'm able to grow into even a portion of the types of actresses they are. They're all so independent.

Do you have any projects coming up outside of Smallville that you'd like to talk about?

Right now everything is not quite solidified, so I don't want to go into too much, but I've been looking at a couple of different scripts. When I know a little bit more, then I'll go into it.

Smallville was shooting on the Annacis Island at Domtar Inc. on Derwent Way for the past few days. Inside source informed us it was for the "7-13" episode "Hero" with over 300 extras in a large warehouse. The security was very tight around the facility.

Scene was at a Rock concert where band that played was called "One Republic". Characters involved "Kara", "Jimmy" and "Pete", we were also informed that there was a stunt where speakers fall off the stage and crash. Song played was called "Apologize", there was lot of dialog between "Kara" and "Jimmy".

Pete Ross Returns...

December 6, 2007 - Clark Kent is about to be reunited with an old friend, as Sam Jones III returns to Smallville in the role of Pete Ross. IGN TV has the scoop on Pete's return, which will take place in an upcoming episode called "Hero."

Pete was a big part of the early seasons of Smallville, becoming the first person on the series -- outside of the Kent family -- to discover Clark's superpowers and alien heritage. Pete eventually moved to Wichita, and Jones left the show at the end of Season 3. Since that time there have been occasional rumors that Jones might make a guest appearance on the show, but Smallville producers previously said that scheduling issues prevented that from happening... until now that is.

Those not wishing to know any of the details of Pete's return to Smallville should skip to after the below photo.

We've learned that in the episode Pete will have an encounter with kryptonite, which ends up giving him a superpower of his own. How this will affect his relationship with Clark remains to be seen...

The air date for "Hero" is still to be determined, but look for it in 2008. Meanwhile, Smallville will be airing a brand new episode, "Gemini", next Thursday, December 13th.

Although the writers’ strike has caused quite an inconvenience for viewers, fans of The CW’s Smallville have a lot to look forward to next year. For one, a forthcoming episode will feature a special guest character who gives Clark (Tom Welling) a run for his money.

The episode, the 13th in the current season, is scheduled to air towards the end of February. For those who want to know more about the episode, read on for spoilers.

According to Kryptonsite, Smallville’s special guest character for 13th episode will not only be male, but will also be deemed a “hero” after he, and not Clark, ends up saving the lives of Kara (Laura Vandervoort) and Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore).

The site also claims that the guest character first exhibits power in the episode through a Kryptonite plot device. Jimmy shows interest in the person’s powers, which makes Chloe (Allison Mack) question her decision to be so secretive about the abilities she acquired through the meteor shower.

Living up to his villainous nature, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) tries to use the person with the powers to his advantage.

No word yet on who will play the guest character, nor what exactly his powers are.

Aside from the guest character, fans can also expect to see a “muscle-clad henchman,” a “roadie” and a “drummer” in the episode. Moreover, Kryptonsite claims that a portion of the episode takes place at a concert.

Although the episode, aptly entitled “Hero” is scheduled to air on February 21, this could easily change should the writers’ strike reach a sudden end. Talks resumed on Monday, November 26, and although an agreement is not expected to be made this week, Deadline Hollywood Daily is claiming that the strike could be over before Christmas.

Smallville Ready to Fly with 15 Episodes

"The latest show to weigh in on its prospects, in light of the writers' strike is the CW's Smallville, which expects to deliver at the very least more than half of its planned season. "We were able to complete scripts for 15 episodes," executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar say in a statement, pointing out that No. 15 is (as fate would have it) a cliff-hanger. "To the best of [our] knowledge, the studio plans to produce all of them."

But beyond that? "If there isn't a quick resolution, then the season ends in February," the execs say. "It is our wish that this strike be resolved quickly so that we can get back to doing what we love — writing."

Smallville is expanding its superhero roster this winter. Executive producer Al Gough confirms for TVGuide.com that Black Canary will make her first appearance on the CW series in the Jan. 10 episode. Playing the role will be Canadian actress Alaina Huffman, who had a supporting role in Sci Fi Channel's Painkiller Jane. As comic fans know, where there's Black Canary, the Green Arrow can't be far behind. Indeed, the episode, titled "Siren," will feature the return of the Emerald Archer (played by popular guest star Justin Hartley), last seen in January heading off with his newly formed Justice League. In DC Comics lore, the two crimefighters have a long and complicated romantic history. But in a unique twist, Smallville will pit them against each other - at least initially. "When we meet her, she's a vigilante working for Lex Luthor," Gough says. The Justice League "has been keeping their eyes on Lex and trying to thwart him at every turn." Fed up, Lex "will say to Black Canary, if you can bring me the head of the Green Arrow, I'll make it very much worth your while." Like her comic-book counterpart, Smallville's version is a martial-arts expert whose superpower is a "canary cry" - a high-pitched scream that can shatter objects and take down opponents. And, yes, she will sport the fishnet stockings that are a trademark of the character's costume. So will romance eventually bloom between Green Arrow and Black Canary? "It's the very beginning of their relationship," Gough says. "At the end of the episode you clearly see that they have some sparks."

When Oliver gets back to Metropolis, he doesn't immediately tell Lois he's back in town. Smallville's version of Dinah Lance (Black Canary) is the host of a conservative talk radio show. Kind of like Ann Coulter without the Adam's apple. Like the comics, Dinah has dark hair, but wears a wig while in action as the Black Canary.

The guest character ends up saving the lives of two other characters and is quickly deemed a "hero." The guest character first exhibits powers in this story thanks to a Kryptonite plot device that may stretch your imagination a little bit, but it's still fun. Jimmy thinks this person's power is "cool," which makes Chloe question her decision not to tell him about her meteor-based ability. Erica Durance (Lois) does not appear in this episode. Lex tries to use this newly-supowerpowered person to his advantage. A character that fans have been wanting to see on Smallville for the past few seasons should be appearing in this one.

Casting notices have gone out for "Alexander," which sounds like it will be a representation of Lex's younger self. KryptonSite has learned that the eleventh episode of Smallville 's current season, scheduled to air in January, will not only feature the return of Justin Hartley as Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow, but that the Justice League superheroine, the Black Canary, will feature in the story as well.

The title of the episode is "Siren."

No further details are known at this time, aside from a recent Al Gough interview where he said that Chloe will be putting her Watchtower abilities to good use moonlighting for the Green Arrow. What we do know is that this episode comes only one week after the episode "Persona," which features the return of Brainiac to the mythos!

Mom of Steel

On the heels of Dean Cain's guest spot, another actor with ties to the Man of Steel mythos lands in Smallville THE CW, 8/7c) when 1984's big-screen "Supergirl," Helen Slater, begins a two-episode arc as Clark's Kryptonian mom, Lara. "You know how people love this kind of stuff," enthuses Slater, adding that we first see a pregnant Lara in Superlore-tweaking flashbacks set on her doomed home planet. "After learning that Krypton is going to be destroyed, I go through a portal to Smallville to see where my baby will be raised...because [my husband] Jor-El has already been to Earth and picked the Kents to be Clark's family." In a passing-of-the-torch moment, Supermom makes the trip with her niece Kara, aka Supergirl. And it's a good thing, too, because what the two ladies learn in the past may be Clark's only hope for a future after someone else from his bloodline shows up in two weeks for what Slater describes as an "intense, highly stylized episode."

At this point, it is already well-known that actress Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the eponymous 1984 film, will be guest-starring in the sixth episode of Smallville's current season. Slater will debut on The CW series as Lara, Kara Zor-El's aunt and Clark's biological mother.

However, fans of Smallville will be happy to know that Lara is not the only Kryptonian family member who will make an appearance on the particular episode, which is set to air on November 1. For those who are interested to know who the other family member is, or are eager to get some plot spoilers on the episode, read on.

According to Kryptonsite, viewers can expect to see Kara's (Laura Vandervoort) father, Zor-El, on the episode. Initially, there were speculations flying about that Hercules star Kevin Sorbo would be assuming the role, but on October 8, Kryptonsite announced that Zor-El will be played by Christopher Heyerdahl, more popularly known as Male Wraith on Stargate Atlantis.

Moving on to the meat of the plot, Clark (Tom Welling) finds out that Kara is in Washington searching for the aquamarine crystal from her ship. Kara is captured after she breaks into the lab and rendered helpless with a truth serum containing kryptonite. Due to the serum, Kara relives a prior trip to Earth when she followed Clark's mother, Lara, to the Kent Farm.

By damaging the machine with his heat vision, Clark is able to save Kara, but in the process also falls victim to the truth serum. He ends up seeing what Kara sees: his mother.

Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) finds out about a secret that Lana (Kristin Kreuk) has been hiding from Clark.

Michael Rosenbaum also appears in the episode as Lex Luthor. According to Kryptonsite, Lex walks into the lab and is intrigued when he sees the government agents studying the crystal.

In the process of trying to get the crystal back, Kara is captured and sedated with a kryptonite serum; Clark follows and tries to release her, but not before the serum has caused both to have a vision of Clark's mother (Helen Slater).

Kryptonite and high voltage mix during a lightning storm, causing Lana (Kristin Kreuk) to absorb Clark’s (Tom Welling) powers. Using her newfound super powers, she breaks into Lex’s (Michael Rosenbaum) safe and steals incriminating evidence which she then delivers to Lois (Erica Durance) and Grant (Michael Cassidy), demanding they run a story exposing Lex’s secrets. After Grant refuses to use stolen material, Lana decides to take care of Lex herself. Clark tries to stop Lana from killing Lex and a super battle ensues between the two. Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore and John Glover also star. Charles Beeson directed the episode written by Brian Peterson & Kelly Souders.

Al Gough: Not this season, but Lois will be joining the "Planet" staff full time.

Superman's moral stance on killing is very clear in the comic books. Do you believe that there is more flexibility in Clark's moral code before he becomes Superman, or is there a philosophy you have developed for these circumstances? — SueB62

Gough: A great question. We were told up front by DC Comics that Clark couldn't kill anyone. Now I can hear the fans going, "But in that episode.... " The fact is we adopted a policy from the start that the villain had to fall on their own sword, or die by circumstances beyond Clark's control. I've heard lots of arguments in early episodes that Clark did "kill" someone, but the fact is he hasn't and he won't. Now, when it comes to aliens and Zoners and Zod (whom in the comics, Superman did kill with Kryptonite) the rules are a little fuzzier, but the tenet remains — Superman (and by extension, Clark) doesn't set out to kill anyone. Believe me, it makes for some very interesting discussions in the writers room.

What is the status of having Michael McKean back as Perry White? He was great! — prisonerofgod

Gough: We'd love to have him back, but he is an extremely busy actor!

Why did Season 5 end with the Chloe-Clark kiss in the "Daily Planet" if there were no plans to follow through? — frellingtralk
Gough: The world was ending, and Chloe didn't think she'd see him again. The fact is, she will always have feelings for Clark, even though she knows they will never be more than friends.

I know Allison [Mack, Chloe] will be directing an episode. Will either Michael [Rosenbaum] or Tom [Welling] be directing this season? — Misty

Gough: Allison is [directing an episode], and we are very excited. Tom will be directing again as well. Michael wanted to, but he recently had back surgery and opted out. [Executive producer] Miles [Millar] and I have always been supportive of the actors directing, and think both Tom and Michael have given us great episodes. We expect the streak to continue with Allison!

Why do you believe the Lex/Lana/Clark triangle was such a big success, even though it upset many fans? — duskwillow
Gough: Because people are so invested in these characters. That is the great thing about Smallville fans — they are passionate about the show and the characters. Miles and I take so much crap online for various decisions, and the fact is it makes me smile, because people still care. I think the fact that Lex and Lana divided so many people is a testament to that. It is the core triangle of the show, and the fact that it was on slow burn for five seasons just added to the furor.

Are we ever going to see [hard evidence] of Lex's genius-level intellect? — thevar

Gough: Good question. Hadn't really thought about it, but it is something to consider.

Will Lois and Kara become friends this season? — mcvs2104
Gough: Eventually they will; she is, after all, Clark's cousin, and Lois has a soft spot for the Kents (or the Els if she really knew where they were from!).

Is Erica Durance going to appear more this season? Her Lois Lane is the most faithful incarnation I have ever seen on screen and her appearing so little is starting to hurt the character's development. — medliana

I know about the romantic restrictions on Lois and Clark [being a couple on Smallville], but is there a restriction on one or the other starting to have nonplatonic feelings? Such as Clark starting to like Lois more but keeping it to himself? — Superman_Beyond

Hi, I'm from Argentina. I love the show. It's my favorite! Well, I have a question/comment for you: Do you think Clark needs a change of clothes urgent[ly]? I think Tom Welling is the most beautiful man, but he always wears the same clothes. He can continue using the red and blue colors, but he can use different clothes, I think. – lulitasmv89

Gough: Seeing that you are from such a fashionable country, I completely understand where you are coming from. But the fact is, Clark is an organic farmer in Kansas who doesn't make that much money, so there isn't a lot of time devoted to fashion. That's what all of his evil alter egos (Kal, Bizzaro, Red Clark) focus on. Believe it or not, we get more inquiries on "Where can I get those red-and-blue jackets" than we get cast-autograph requests! The fact is, we bought them in bulk and had to dye them ourselves. (Well, not me personally, but our incredibly talented costume designer.)

Al Gough: Yes, we are sticking with that policy as far as Clark is concerned. (Obviously Bizarro can fly as well as Kara.) But following up on what Chloe said about his lack of flying in the season premiere ("Clark, you need to get on that"), Kara will be giving him "flying lessons" later in the season. Although with Clark, they end up being more like "falling lessons."

Can we get some clues as to who some of the other DC characters are that might appear on the show this year? Thanks, and awesome job with the show. I'm hooked every week. — smallvillefan213

Gough: I am glad you are hooked; that way, when I don't give you any new information, you will keep watching. Mwhahahaaha! Here's what I can say: You'll see Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, Bizarro, and the return of Brainiac and the Green Arrow... as well as a future hero to be named later!

Since there is going to be a JLA movie and Superman Returns Brandon Routh and Batman Begins Christian Bale are not going to be in it, is there any chance that Tom Welling and the rest of the gang from Smallville's own Justice League could be featured in the roles? — cooper2000

Gough: That, unfortunately, isn't how Hollywood works. You will see a brand-spanking-new group of actors donning the tights for that film. I heard it is under the direction of George (Mad Max) Miller, so I am personally very excited to see it.

Will Chloe go back to being "Watchtower" this year at all? I thought that was a great way to fit her into the Justice League storyline. I love the episodes where they are saving someone or just working together and taking care of business. — aenawa

Gough: We love those stories, too, and you will see Chloe in quasi-Watchtower mode around Episode 11. You'll discover that she is still doing odd jobs for Oliver and the gang on the side. Hey, a girl's got to pay the rent. Cub reporters don't make squat!

Gough: You haven't seen the last of Bizarro, and the Legion of Doom is always a possibility. And in the words of Forrest Gump, that's all I've got to say about that!

Will there be a major character or at least a guest star playing a character on Lex's side? — kpjmm

Gough: Yes, at least they will start there. There may also be someone on the show who is currently on Lex's side and we don't know it yet. (Kids, fire up the TiVos and put on those thinking caps!)

Will the fake-baby storyline be explained properly? I thought it was a pretty desperate thing for Lex to do and a sad ending for Lex and Lana. — lexanarocked

Gough: It was a desperate and sad thing for him to do. However, the explanation was given — Lex didn't feel Lana would marry him for himself, so he faked the pregnancy to seal the deal, then stopped drugging her with hormones after the wedding, so she thought she had a miscarriage. Remember, gang, this is one of the reasons he becomes evil, because he is desperate for love that he cannot get from his father or from Lana.

I heard Clark and Lana will reconcile, yet the audience knows that Clark and Lana will not end up together. Why invest so much time and energy rehashing their relationship this late in the series? — caitiedid

Gough: You also know that Lex will become evil, that Clark becomes Superman, and that the two will be mortal enemies, yet you've been watching for seven seasons! The fact is, Clark loves Lana, and that is one of the central relationships of the show. She is that crucial first relationship that helps define him and his future relationships with women. The fact that he screws it up so badly, no matter how hard he tries, is one of the reasons he ends up with Lois. Remember, my young Padawan, our story is the journey, not the conclusion.

The character of Clark seems to have become increasingly marginalized over the last couple of seasons. When are you going to tell Clark's story of his journey toward becoming Superman? And why does the journey have so much pining for Lana in it? — Gigi_F

We've heard a lot about character arcs for Kara, Lois and Lex. I was wondering whether there was a specific arc for Clark, one independent of Lana's return, considering he is the central character. He will grapple with his past and his future. And now that Lana is back, will he finally realize that this relationship, no matter how hard he tries, is ultimately doomed? Stay tuned.

Clark is so happy about his relationship with Lana that he tells her he feels like he could fly. James Marsters returns as Milton Fine/Brainiac in this episode. (That is, unless he appears sooner than that...) Lex has a major new business venture. There is another Kryptonian hidden somewhere on Earth, posing as a human as their alien nature has been taken away. Something like Professor Yana on Doctor Who, it sounds like.
